Life is busy! Do you ever feel like there are not enough hours in a day to accomplish all that you want to? Does your ‘to do’ list just keep getting longer and longer? Are you feeling overwhelmed with your responsibilities? How do you adapt when your schedule gets thrown off completely?
Here are 5 tips to help you get back on track!
- Establish a To Do list. “Your mind is for having ideas, not holding them.” David Allen, Getting Things Done
- You need to view your list often so choose the best method for you. You can use an app (Wunderlist is a great one!), a list in your phone, a calendar, a planner or piece of paper.
- Try planning your week in advance. Take a look at your calendar and write out all of your scheduled events. Next, pick only 3 To Do’s to work on each day.

- Establish simple morning and evening routines that you do every day.
- Your routines can include exercise, load/unload the dishwasher, one load of laundry, make phone calls, plan your day, meditate, read, pick up around the house, etc.
- Write out your routines and post them where you will see them like on the fridge.
- Make time for yourself! If you can’t take care of yourself, how can you help take care of others?
- Delegate. Can you delegate household chores to family members? Hire a cleaning company to help you stay caught up. Hire a professional organizer to help you tackle a long awaited project.
- Pick the tasks that you love to do and get help with the rest!
